About this Course

Finding meaningful connections can be a challenge. Whether you’re new to town, have been here for ages, or simply want to add a splash of creativity to your life; we invite you to join professional artist and mental health advocate, Amy Frank, in this 4 week workshop. Week one will focus on using art as an outlet for one’s thoughts and emotions. Discover the freedom of letting it out on paper! Weeks two, three, and four will maintain this focus while incorporating technical skills with graphite, pen, and watercolour pencils. All four weeks will centre on building community amongst participants. Together we’ll create, connect, and maybe even discover a new favourite hobby! A limited number of classroom-use supplies will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring a mixed media notepad or paper, pencils, erasers, black felt pen, watercolour pencils, and watercolour brushes. Accessibility and Program Notes: • This program takes place in the Brereton Room. There are eight stairs to enter the program location. A platform lift is available, please check in with front desk if you would like assistance. • Please refrain from wearing or using strong-scented products while attending this program. • Sensory Considerations: Overhead lighting. • For accessibility questions or concerns, please email Lbouchard@victoria.ca. • 72 hours’ notice is required for a full refund.
